Gunbound is a turn-based multiplayer online artillery game, most comparable to the Worms series. It is also most notable for being the first commercial online game in the country to establish a free-to-play model with an item shop as its main revenue. It is currently being published by Mobius Games in the Philippines.
Gunbound Philippines
Gunbound Philippines began open beta on December 1, 2004. It launched commercially on January 24, 2005, becoming the first free-to-play online game in the country.
Gunbound World Champion
Mobius Games released the latest version of Gunbound, the Gunbound World Champion, on May 2006. Updating the game's original design, GWC offers a more user-friendly interface that prominently features the game's trademark colorful characters. GWC's existing mobiles have also been given a facelift that gives them a more three-dimensional appearance. Other significant changes include new maps and mobiles that will challenge players' tried-and-tested skills. User accounts were migrated along with their current levels, gold, cash, and game points.
Gunbound International Server
On June 1, 2007, Mobius merged Gunbound Philippines to the Gunbound International Service (GIS), and have begun migrating players to the new service. Gunbound Philippines was shutdown on May 31, 2007, in preparation for the merging.1
